Quit India Movement:

Assam witnessed several peasant movements against oppressive British land revenue policies and exploitation by landlords. Leaders like Ambikagiri Roy and Bishnu Prasad Rabha mobilized peasants to demand land reforms and fair treatment, contributing to the broader struggle for independence.

Role in Assam-Bengal Famine:

During the Bengal Famine of 1943, Assam played a significant humanitarian role by providing relief and support to famine-stricken areas. Many volunteers and organizations from Assam worked tirelessly to assist the victims, showcasing solidarity in the fight against British colonial policies.
